Bayer and Rad AI Collaborate to Advance Radiology through AI

Friday, June 28, 2024

Bayer and Rad AI have announced a new partnership at the SIIM conference, focusing on integrating Rad AI’s AI-driven radiology operational solutions into Bayer’s Calantic™ Digital Solutions platform.

Rad AI provides advanced technologies like radiology speech recognition reporting, AI-driven patient follow-up management, and automated radiology impression generation. These solutions aim to ease the workload on radiologists and address resource limitations by leveraging generative AI to improve efficiency in radiology reporting and patient care.

With imaging data constituting a large portion of healthcare data and its volume continuing to grow, demonstrating the value of AI deployments while managing operational challenges in radiology suites is crucial. The collaboration aims to enable hospitals and health systems to seamlessly deploy and benefit from operational AI applications through a unified platform.

Rad AI’s solutions include Rad AI Reporting, which accelerates report creation by organizing radiology reports using AI, allowing radiologists to focus more on interpreting studies. Rad AI Omni Impressions tailors radiology report impressions to individual radiologists' preferences, reducing fatigue and improving workflow efficiency. Rad AI Continuity automates follow-up processes for incidental findings, ensuring timely patient care and potentially increasing imaging revenue for health systems.

Bayer’s Calantic™ Digital Solutions platform, a vendor-neutral, cloud-hosted ecosystem, complements these efforts by integrating various AI-enabled applications. These applications assist in prioritization, lesion detection, quantification, and workflow enhancement within radiology departments. The platform’s curated selection process ensures that applications meet strict criteria to improve clinical and operational outcomes.

According to Rad AI CEO Doktor Gurson and Bayer Radiology Senior Vice President of Digital Solutions Rich Dewit, this collaboration aims to innovate and expand access to advanced technologies in hospitals nationwide. By demonstrating clear ROI through operational AI applications, both companies aim to build confidence and adoption among healthcare providers, ultimately benefiting patients and health systems alike.
